This includes Norway’s ground-breaking Brevik carbon capture project, as well as Northern Lights, the world’s first CO₂ storage facility on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.Furthermore, we are developing the design and delivery methods for offshore floating wind and future hydrogen and ammonia projects.As part of a strategic alliance, we are also working on a large digitalization project, whilst pioneering new digital solutions to make operations safer and more efficient.Our Structure group within the Structure, Architecture and Maintenance department in Fornebu is now looking for a Specialist Structural Engineer.Over the years, Aker Solutions has developed procedures, work instructions, and guidelines for optimizing and standardizing the structural design and fabrication processes in our projects. Sets of structural Standard Details are also part of this development.The Standard Details range from welding and joint details for the different structure classes to specific components as monorail beams, stairs ladders, etc. The aforementioned documents and Standard Details are part of Aker Solutions' governing documents.The scope of work involves taking a main role in the maintenance and further development of the Standard Details and other structural governing documents. Part of the expected tasks for the position includes mentoring and tuition in the use of the Standard Details, in addition to collaborating in their implementation on the different projects. To succeed, sound experience in structural offshore design and design codes as well as knowledge and understanding of structural fabrication processes will be needed.What will you be doing?Oversee the Standard Detail team, ensuring effective management, continuous development, and implementation of structural detailing processes, while coordinating with ongoing projects.Maintain and enhance the Standard Detail SPS site, ensuring that all work methods and instructions are up-to-date, and that team members adhere to the established guidelines in Standard Detail Work Instructions.Provide expert technical support to the team and project members, offering guidance on structural engineering practices and challenges.Conduct training sessions and courses for structural engineers and other relevant teams across the organization, including on-site personnel when required.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders, such as clients and engineers at fabrication yards, to incorporate their specifications into the structural Standard Details.Review, approve, and validate structural designs, analyses, and related deliverables.
