Internship
The need to meet an increasing demand for energy in a more sustainable way is one of the biggest challenges facing humankind today. Every business area, team and project in Equinor plays a role in delivering this mission, and our summer internship is no different.  What can you expect from the programme?   You will join us on a six-week hybrid programme - partly physical and partly virtual - designed to give you the experience and skills you need in your studies and future career.  Working flexibly, you will split your time between working as part of a team within one of our business areas, learning and development activities, as well as delivering a group project with several of your fellow interns (the group project is not applicable to US interns).  Hands-on experience You will spend part of your internship working on tasks and projects within the discipline you’ve applied for, giving you first-hand experience of the strategy, processes and culture in your team. Your hiring manager will be your main point of contact, ensuring that you get the most out of your time with us, but you’ll also be supported by colleagues in your team.       Learning and development  You will join a series of learning sessions that provide an overview of our business and introduce you to some of the processes and methods we use at Equinor. These will include introductions to key areas of our strategy such as safety and sustainability, the energy transition plan, our value chains (oil & gas, renewables, low carbon solutions), technology and digitalization. There will also be learning opportunities covering various professional skills that will help you in your future career.  Multidiscipline project delivery You will spend the remainder of your time on a group project with other students from various academic backgrounds and supported by experienced colleagues from around our business.  Over the course of this project, you’ll get to develop key skills such as collaboration, leadership, communication, presentation skills and planning and time management.  Protecting your well-being We are constantly developing our flexible working policy to meet the increasing demand for remote working, so you can be sure that your health and well-being will be a priority during your time with us. We also recognise that your summer internship is an opportunity to make connections that could last your entire career. We also provide platforms to build networks and relationships with fellow interns and we encourage our interns to be proactive in arranging social gatherings and events with each other.

Lærling i Equinor
As an apprentice with Equinor, you will receive training in one of Norway’s largest and most recognised apprenticeship companies. We welcome hundreds of new apprentices each year. We provide you with professional training of a high standard and challenge you to learn on the job. When your apprenticeship is over, you will have excellent practical and theoretical knowledge in your subject, and everyone who completes their apprenticeship in Equinor has the opportunity to apply for a permanent position. At Equinor we have a long-term perspective to our apprentice programme, and are taking in a large number of apprentices to ensure the recruitment of employees with important competence for the future. Recruitment informationEquinor offers both onshore and offshore apprenticeships. If you find an apprenticeship that is suited for you, simply send your application electronically. We require good grades and a good school attendance record. You must have an approved learning process from VG2 or VG3. We are looking for individuals who are conscientious and work well in teams. If you are offered an apprenticeship with Equinor, a written training contract will be set up between you, the company and the county authority (Fylkeskommunen). You will get an instructor who, together with the technical supervisor, will be responsible for the training. The instructor will help you get acquainted with the work environment and colleagues. Remember – we are looking for apprentices that take an active part both socially and professionally. What do we do?  

Oil and gas  
Equinor produces around 2 million barrels of oil equivalent every day and is responsible for about 70 percent of overall Norwegian oil and gas production. In 2021, Equinor’s activity outside Norway accounted for around one third of the company’s total oil and gas production, and this is expected to increase. The Peregrino field in Brazil and the Mariner field in the UK are our largest operatorships outside Norway. 

Renewable energy  
Equinor provides more than one million European homes with renewable power from offshore wind farms in the United Kingdom and Germany. We are the operator of the Sheringham Shoal, Dudgeon and Hywind Scotland offshore wind farms. Projects currently under development include Empire Wind and Beacon Wind (US), and Dogger Bank (UK), which will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm. By 2030, we plan to have grown our installed net renewables capacity from 2021’s 0.7 GW to 12-16 GW. Two-thirds of this capacity will be within offshore wind. 

Technology development  
Equinor’s strong ability to apply new technologies and digital solutions constitutes a competitive advantage. Digital technology is a key enabler for us to develop into a leading company in the energy transition. Our ambition is to allocate 40% of our research and development capital towards renewables and low-carbon solutions by 2025.
