Join our Marine Structures department in the Energy Transition division as our new Lead Engineer for Structural Health Monitoring and Digital Twin Technology and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new roleAs our new Lead Engineer, you will contribute to the further development of Ramboll’s technology related to structural health monitoring (SHM) and true digital twins (TDT) for supporting data-driven decision-making. You will be a part of a highly skilled team who is working with project execution and the development of the TDT technology, combining innovative use of SHM systems with digitalization.Your role will primarily be to execute technical projects but also participate in the lead and support of technical projects and assist in research and development (R&D) activities. Additionally, your role will be to contribute to build an expert team in Norway that works with state-of-the-art technologies related to SHM of marine structures and critical structural infrastructure. To succeed in this role you must have skilled knowledge of structural engineering and data analysis and have a proactive and global mindset.Your key responsibilities will be:Execute, lead and support technical projects and support R&D activities.Manage own projects including the issue of tenders/proposals for Cost, Time and Resources (CTR) and manage client and sub-contractor contacts.Assist in 1) the development of new tools for data-driven structural integrity management and decision-making and 2) programming/coding of existing and new software (mainly in Python).Perform field measurements offshore and/or onshore.Your new teamYou will be part of a growing expert team in Norway that is supporting a specialized team of 7-8 people located in Esbjerg, Denmark. Consequently, you will be part of a team that cooperates across Norway and Denmark. The team works with innovative technologies related to advanced structural analysis, operational modal analysis, virtual sensing, load calibration, data analytics, cloud computing, machine learning and other future technologies. The projects you will be working on are mainly executed from the office, but some travel is expected. Additionally, contributions to technical papers and attendance at conferences may be relevant.We work for global customers providing cutting-edge solutions. Hence, the project execution and technology development are focused on solving the problems of our clients. Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.These include:MSc or PhD in structural or mechanical engineering, with proven working experience.Practical and theoretical experience with structural monitoring systems and signal processing techniques for structural vibration and load problems.Experience with finite element (FE) modelling in addition to numerical modelling using programming languages such as Python, Matlab or similar.Experience with relevant topics related to structural engineering such as structural design, FE analysis, environmental loading (wind/wave), fatigue analysis and structural reliability methods.Knowledge or experience with linear and non-linear operational modal analysis (OMA), modal-based expansion for stress recovery (virtual sensing), FE model updating, environmental load identification/calibration and quantification of uncertainties.Interest in, or preferably knowledge or experience of, big data technologies, machine learning (supervised and unsupervised) and cloud computing.Excited about working with innovative technologies and have a great passion for delivering high-quality results.Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.What we can offer youCompetitive base salary and pension schemeExtra vacation in addition to the 5 weeks holiday, including boxing week and squeeze day in Easter.Bonus scheme.Comprehensive health insurance and travel insurance coverage.Hybrid workplace policy.Ongoing investment in your development.Work at the heart of sustainable changeRamboll is a global architecture, engineering, and consultancy company.
