Primary Metal Technology (PMT) is responsible for technology development related to primary production of aluminium. Hydro is world leader within aluminium production technology. Together with colleagues in the technology organization you will take part in developing carbon- and electrolysis technology and implement new technology at Hydro's smelters in Norway and abroad. At the technology center in Årdal, we have full-scale testing facilities as well as laboratories where we can bring ideas, theory and academic knowledge into technological solutions. Hydro is now working with implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions.
Area of Responsibility
The right candidate will build competence within carbon anode production in order to develop technology and optimize processes. Focus will be to strengthen the anode baking furnace competence area; participate in all stages from idea, development, testing, verification, implementation and follow-up. There will be a close cooperation with Hydro’s plants. The position requires both theoretical and practical skills.
- Development, optimization and implementation of new technological solutions into Primary Metal’s smelters in Norway and internationally
- Planning and execution of technology development projects
- Operational support to Hydro's operations worldwide
- Act as a link between technology and operation
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD degree within Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Combustion Engineering or similar
- Interest and skills within new analytic tools
- Good academic results
- Good communication and cooperation skills
