The assistant Rig Manager is responsible for all aspects of rig management for the assigned rig, ensuring effective operation in compliance with company, contractual and regulatory requirements. He/she is also responsible for timely updates to Project Schedules and costs for distribution to the Project Lead (Rig Manager or Project Manager) and the Engineering Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop key strategic and operational relationships with client representatives in pursuit of both client and company objectives
Ensure that clients drilling schedules are achieved in compliance with company and industry guidelines and procedures, through appropriate management of manpower, equipment and materials
Assist with key decision making with regard to rig operations e.g. downtime/re-start operations based on evaluation of circumstances.
Ensure all rig operations are carried out in compliance with Company policies and procedures
Liaise with appropriate regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with legislative and industry requirements
Represent company at customer interface meetings on technical and regulatory issues
Provide reports as required by the organization and client, including KPI reports, monthly rig reports, variance reports, operating budget reporting and end of month rig utilization report
Act as adviser to the business and operations team on best technical or engineering solutions
Participate in periodic review of rig specific status reports for the classification societies
Participate in periodic review and update of the rig specific verification scheme
Provide visible leadership and serve as role model to company employees
Mentor, coach and develop employees in meeting company expectations
Assist with all costings and budgeting for rig movements and operations
Manage change effectively through participation in the Hazard Management, Stop Work and/or Corrective Action Procedures
Assist in the management of and effectively participate in the SOAR program and encourage others to actively participate
Assist in the management of RMS, HSE related policies & procedures
Qualification requirements:
Bachelor degree in technical disciplines or technical college ("teknisk fagskole") will be an advantage
Experience from the same position
Operational experience from either jack-ups or floaters
Leader experience
