Vice President Commercial
As a result of organizational changes in the management team, we are now looking for a VP Commercial. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in our strive to become a world class customer oriented business and contribute in the core divisional team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all divisional commercial activities and supporting the plants on commercial activities within their area of responsibility. The responsibility will be broad, covering all commercial activities ranging from strategic raw materials, product development, technical customer service to sales and marketing as well as market intelligence.
A key aspect of the position is to develop, drive and coordinate commercial initiatives across all plants.
A high degree of interpersonal contact, internally and externally, as well as planning, analysis and proactive contact with customers is required. The position requires international travelling.
The position will be managing a team highly qualified colleagues responsible for their respective commercial areas, and reports to Senior Vice President in Elkem Carbon. The position is preferably located in Oslo, although other locations can be considered.
Areas of responsibility
Participate in core divisional team developing Elkem Carbon and follow up the plants
Coordinate all commercial activities of Elkem Carbon, especially between sales and raw material purchasing
Support plants on sales and marketing and coordinate sales on a divisional level where more than one plant can supply the same customer
Responsibility for strategic development of Elkem Carbon’s customer value proposition including product development, global technical customer support and customer service model
Overall responsibility of long and short term strategic sourcing of divisional raw materials such as anthracite and pitch
Responsibility for market intelligence related to suppliers, competitors and customers
Qualifications required for the position
University degree in business or engineering
Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant industrial work experience
Documented strong results within commercial activities
Commercial mindset – short and long term
Ability to motivate and drive performance among direct reports but also among plant teams not reporting to you
Ability to manage cross cultural teams
Self-driven and effective team player
Action and result oriented
Effective presentation, oral and written communication skills
Fluency in Norwegian and English
