Our global Research organization at Egon Zehnder is a highly valued and integral part of the business. The role is broad-based, covering business development, search execution, knowledge management and candidate analysis. Researchers accompany a project from beginning to end, and are active thought-partners to consultants.

Researchers in Egon Zehnder build specializations in various sectors and functions, and engage in our global practice groups to contribute and benefit from our global knowledge pools.

The Position

The Research Analyst will be an integral part of the global Research organization and the local Oslo team. He/she will partner on client-serving teams and work closely with consultants to provide high quality, thorough research in response to specific assignment and business development opportunities.

On search assignments, the Research Analyst's primary responsibilities are:

  • Contribute actively to the early phase of search by preparing the team for the kick-off through ensuring materials are complete in advance and capturing relevant information throughout the process
  • Provide directed support on assignments, e.g. development of search strategies and target company lists, systematic identification of potential candidates and sources through database, internal network and external resources, and development of client-facing presentations
  • Participate in client meetings and bring knowledge and insights to the table within their domain of expertise
  • Support development of high-quality client-facing reports, such as proposal letters, role specifications and candidate reports
  • Partner with the assignment team throughout the search process to calibrate strategy and candidates, track progress in the Firm's database and generate external status updates, and ensure relevant information is up to date and captured effectively on internal databases

In addition, the Research Analyst will support business development and knowledge management initiatives:

  • Monitor and track relevant market developments, company updates and people moves, highlighting potential business development opportunities, and updating the internal database where necessary
  • Research and summarise company, people and market profiles
  • Support production of high-quality marketing presentations
  • Provide research support for marketing events and intellectual capital projects as needed
  • Proactively capture knowledge/information from both internal and external sources
  • Support local office initiatives to build knowledge in specific areas for future business development and to share expertise and best practices with colleagues

Candidate Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree. He/she should have some full-time work experience in a corporate environment, preferably in a research function, ideally in management consulting, market research, financial services industry, law, or academia. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

The individual will be comfortable working on simultaneous assignments in different client teams, and should be consistently meeting internal and external deadlines and deliverables. It would be a benefit if this individual has international work or study experience.

Candidate Competencies

The candidate should have strong problem solving skills/analytic ability and intellectual curiosity. He/she will also have a proactive orientation and excellent collaboration skills, and be service-minded and comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.
