The Derrickman operates and maintains drilling and completion fluids circulating system and assists with running of tubulars in/out of the hole.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform emergency duties as per Station Bill and Emergency Procedures manual.
Comply with and effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of RMS, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related policies and procedures, and relevant authority regulatory requirements.
Utilize and participate in job planning processes.
Ensure Floormen and Assistant Derrickmen are correctly deployed for ongoing and upcoming operations, and that they are familiar with the equipment in use and its safe operation.
Ensure planned maintenance on drilling equipment is performed by the drilling crew and is recorded.
Carry out daily checks and ensure the choke manifold is properly lined up for the current operation.
Perform thorough and timely derrick inspections and Dropped Object Checks, document the results and ensure any anomalies are reported.
Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right the first time, every time, and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.
Complete sections of daily drilling reports as directed by the Driller.
Calculate and record drilling line ton miles.
Effectively participate in Risk Assessment and Permit to Work processes.
Operate drilling equipment and tools (i.e. rig tongs, iron roughneck, elevators and slips and other relevant systems and equipment on drill floor).
Operate and monitor drilling fluid circulating system and associated equipment.
Contribute to the effective execution of mechanical lifting operations.
Carry out regular inventory checks on mud pump and circulating system spares to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
Assist with running of tubulars in/out of hole.
Assist cementer during cementing operations.
Oversee mixing of mud and chemicals and ensure that the drilling fluid is maintained within the specified parameters.
Relieve Assistant Driller as required.
Forms part of well control team during shut in procedures.
Demonstrate leadership through personal responsibility and accountability.
Supervise and manage in accordance with supervisory roles and responsibilities, if supervising other crew members.

Experience from same position.
Experience from jack-Up Rig.
