In Aker Solutions division based in Egersund we are now looking forMaterial Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Support and advice material selections, define surface protection and evaluate insulation alternatives in engineering studies, detail engineering projects, and fabrication & installation activities
- Technical responsible for painting and surface treatment activities
- Visit project sites, sub suppliers and perform necessary QA activities
- Monitor equipment or material manufacturers
- Ensure that project and vendor deliveries are performed according to contract requirements
- Participate in FEED`s material selection and ensure fabrication friendly design
- Analyze and investigation for failure within material and welding
- Participate in material forum internal and external
- Support procurement towards suppliers for material issues and deliveries
- Participate in Aker Solutions Welding & NDT network
Qualifications:
- Higher technical education, MSc or BSc within relevant area (Metallurgy, Material Technology, Welding, Corrosion, Surface Preparation and Coatings)
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Multi-discipline skills and familiar with modern IO concepts is preferable
- Good communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and verbally
- Good cooperation skills and interest for working in teams
