ABOUT THE JOB
Nordic Semiconductor's R&D capacity is expanding. We are looking to recruit a talented and dynamic Software Developer with the technical expertise and communication skills to help develop and grow our tools and solutions. The Software Group in Nordic Semiconductor R&D is developing tools, protocols, software development kits and applications for wireless consumer products and for the Internet of Things. You will contribute in developing software used by customers worldwide developing products with Nordic's SoCs. You will create tools that offer both great functionality and great usability experience. The position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the design and quality of our products, and the direction of the group. You will contribute to the success of the company, helping to drive forward the Nordic's ultra-low power wireless technologies to the next level.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The job involves a range of activities. On a regular basis, your responsibilities include: • Developing and maintaining libraries and command line tools for standalone use or as dependencies in other applications, using C/C++ language • Developing software supporting the major desktop operating systems (Windows, Linux and macOS) • Developing systems that allows effective reuse of system components • Developing bindings for interfacing the products from other languages and runtimes (e.g. Python and Node.js) • Developing protocol implementations (e.g. for Bluetooth Low Energy) • Interfacing low level parts of the operating systems, e.g. file system, USB, serial port • Writing documentation supporting the team's products • Maintaining effective working relationships with the other development teams at Nordic

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• M.Sc. in Computer Engineering or similar, or B.Sc. with relevant experience
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities • Excellent communication and team working skills • Software architecture, design, development and testing experience • Fluent English language (written and oral) • You enjoy new challenges and are excited about the chance to make a difference within the organization

DESIRABLE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• Experience with the latest additions to the C++ language (C++11, 14, 17)
• Experience with C++ API design • Experience with C++ static code analysis, memory corruption and data race detection tools • Experience with writing secure C++ code • Experience with libclang for analyzing C++/C source code • Experience with system debugging at an advanced level (Windows, Linux and macOS) • Experience with USB APIs (Windows, Linux and macOS) • Strong programming skills in Python or Node.js • Experience with cross platform development for Windows, Linux and macOS • Experience with Agile Scrum development procedures
