Bergshav is a family owned shipping company with headquarters in Grimstad, Norway and offices in Copenhagen, Limassol and Mumbai. The family has been shipowners- and operators since 1930. Today, the fleet mainly comprises crude- and product tankers in addition to a fleet of small LPG vessels operated and marketed under the B-Gas brand. The core fleet is operated by Bergshav Management, an in-house management company offering complete ship management services, including technical-, commercial-, operational- and financial management. Bergshav Management currently employs approximately 20 highly skilled land based management and staff as well as a pool of highly skilled Indian officers and crew, many of which has been with us throughout their seafaring career.

Technical Superintendent:

The Technical Superintedent will have the responsibility and authority to execute all tasks in relation to the daily technical management of and services to the vessels for which he or she is responsible. The position reports to our COO.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The vessels' operational technical safety, and follow-up towards maritime authorites and classification societies
  • Technical and financial management and maintenance of the vessels
  • Organize and dispatch all necessary documentation to the vessels, e.g. class related, regulations, etc.
  • Regular inspections of the vessels
  • Planning and excecuting special surveys/dry docking of the vessels
  • Approval of purchase requisitions
  • Ensure adequate manning of the vessels in close corporation with the Personnel Manager
  • Support the COO and other management in matters related to the acquisiton or disposal of vessels

The right candidate will likely have extensive sailing experience either as Chief Engineer or Captain on oil/chemical tankers. He or she will also have experience from technical operations ashore, and must command the English language.

The workplace will be with the headquartes in Grimstad, Norway. Travelling is an inherent part of the position.
