Wärtsilä Valmarine AS is based in Drammen and Bergen. We are around 60 employees. We have an excellent reputation internationally for our expertise in most advanced Integrated Automation and Navigation Systems for both Commercial and Naval applications. A reputation gained from more than almost forty years of engineering experience.

Wärtsilä Valmarine need to strengthen its service team by added service engineering capacity. The service department is responsible for service and support for the ship automation and navigation products, developed for use on cruise ships, ferries, and special vessels. Our Service department in Bergen is looking for a SERVICE TECHNICIAN NAVIGATION.

Are you the one we are looking for?
As a Service Technician in Wärtsilä you are service minded and helpful both internally and externally.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Repair of defects/ new installation and commissioning of navigational equipment and sensors
• Assisting other departments upon request
• Suggesting improvements to products and service working procedures
• Getting familiar with and implement the HMS requirements for the Job position
• Ensure that we have satisfied customers
• Perform service with high quality that does not have to be corrected
• Keep updated on new development, new tools and new procedures
• Assist ship owner or crew on troubleshooting in accordance with order or contract
• Perform improvement or modifications in accordance with order or contract

EDUCATION

• Technical high school or university

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCES

• You appreciate extensive travelling on short notice and you are service minded towards internal and external customers
• You have good knowledge of English both written and verbally
• Some years of working experience will be seen as an advantage
