We have a vacancy for a researcher as software developer for the NTNU Applied Underwater Robotics Laboratory.
Are you our new software developer? Join us to create better systems for underwater robotics research. Through new infrastructure, we will create better solutions for future marine operations. The opportunities in the ocean space need interdisciplinary research and operations associated with good software solutions to be realized. The Applied underwater robotics laboratory (AUR-Lab) together with NTNU AMOS has a productive and inspiring world-class research environment.
At the Department of Marine Engineering, a position as a researcher in software development is announced. The deliverables for the position will be development of software and database solutions for ROV, AUV, sonar, oceanographic instrumentation, sensors and measuring equipment for marine biology and archeology.
The position reports to Professor Martin Ludvigsen.
Development and operation of code base for control system for ROV and AUV as cyber-physical systems implemented in libraries such as DUNE and ROS. AUR-Lab utilizes and contributes to open source resources.
Development of new database and e-Infrastructure for AUR-Lab and associated projects
Field operations - data collection and underwater operations
Own research on relevant topics and assistance on student projects at MSc and PhD level. It is possible to publish own results.
The position is part of a community at the Department of Marine Engineering and AMOS, consisting of researchers, PhD students, postdocs and engineers. Workplace will be at both the Department of Marine Engineering and Trondhjem Biological Station. Travel in connection with projects and cruise activity must be expected.

The gross salary for the position of researcher code 1109 is normally remunerated at gross from NOK 523 200- 723 200 before tax per year, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2 % is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology.
