Convertible Bonds Sales and Trading is a part of the Equities Division within DNB Markets. Your responsibility will be to work alongside the Head of Convertible Bond Sales and Trading in growing the client base and further strengthen the secondary trading platform within convertible bonds (CBs) at DNB Markets. Extensive travelling to meet clients and establish trading relationships will be an important part of your role.

We are looking for a candidate with good relationship skills and strong academic results holding a Masters degree or higher, preferably with a Major in Finance or Economics.

The appropriate candidate has a strong interest in financial markets, relevant experience within Sales and Trading facing institutional clients or from Capital Markets. You will work in a small product team with a wide range of duties and responsibilities. It is vital that you have an outgoing personality, are happy to interact with clients and have strong quantitative capabilities. You speak and write English fluently while other language skills are an added plus.

You will quickly be relied upon to cover institutional convertible bond investors globally. You will learn and appreciate the technical aspects of trading convertible bonds, managing risk and providing clients with prices and markets in the names covered by DNB in its function as marker maker in the convertible bond product.

You will learn the trading and information systems relevant for convertible bonds, as well as the regulatory framework around the product from a trading standpoint. You will get immediate responsibility and access to many of the largest institutional investors investing in CBs.

The position is based in DNBs offices in Bjørvika, Oslo.

A convertible bond is a hybrid instrument, a fixed coupon bond with an embedded conversion right in the underlying equity. Investors are mainly split in two categories, hedge funds and outright accounts. They are predominantly large institutions based in London, Continental Europe, Hong Kong and the US. Annual issuance globally is north of USD 100bn.
