About the position:
The development of the proprietary and patented DAR technology has been a joint development with our main design and fabrication contractor, where the primary resource from Innowell has been the CTO.
This position will support the CTO and see to it that the DAR design is fully functional and further developed for new wells, applications and environments. The position shall strengthen Innowell's capacity in constantly improving existing design, developing new design solutions for a wider market and carrying out qualification activities.
The incumbent will be an important source of information for application- and completion engineers, by assisting with information about design criteria and limitations.
Key job responsibilities will include:
- Be fully up to date on the DAR technology, i.e. design basis and design solutions
- Further develop and optimize design solutions
- Coordinate and carry out qualification and integration tests
- Carry out design development projects targeting new applications and downhole integration solutions
- Advise on manufacturing methods and processes
- Ensure that design documentation is updated and quality controlled
- Identify requirements for and participate in contracting of suppliers
- Carry out procurement activities
- Keep abreast with the technological development within downhole completion technology and operations
- Participate in developing strategies for the DAR technology
- Take responsibility for Company's design documentation

The candidate should be an experienced mechanical design engineer, with:

Competencies:
- Higher education: minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Work experience: minimum 10-year experience in design and engineering of mechanical systems, machinery and components, preferably relating to the O&G industry
- Competencies of specific interest:
- Must be proficient with and experienced in 3D Modelling with CAD systems, preferably NX or other DXF compliant software
- Experience from and participation in manufacturing of downhole components, material/heat treatment, QA/QC, etc.
- Experience from and knowledge in drilling and well equipment design and -operations
- Experience from downhole completion technology and operations
- Experience from developing electronic interfaces and regulators with mechanical components
- Application of metallic and unconventional materials for downhole conditions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- A network of peers with similar background is beneficial, where design issues and solutions can be discussed and elaborated on
