Lab Engineer

What You'll Do
Our video endpoint lab handles thousands of automated tests every day and is critical to hundreds of developers' workflow at Lysaker and other sites in Cisco. There are currently over 1200 video systems in the lab, all instrumented to support advanced testing and debugging. You will maintain the lab with the devices and facilities needed to keep it running 24/7.

More specifically, on a day-to-day basis, this role involves:

• Install and decommission video systems and accessories
• Procurement of devices and components
• Capacity planning of space, power, and cooling
• Work with development projects to make sure the lab supports new products and new capabilities
• Manage change projects in the lab
• Troubleshooting operational issues in the lab 

Who You'll Work With
You'll be part of the Engineering Infrastructure team. We are a team of 12 and deliver most of the infrastructure our software and hardware engineers use daily. We take pride in providing a high capacity, flexible, and secure infrastructure that enables our product developers to work at maximum speed.You will work closely with the lab users to ensure the lab is fit for purpose at all times. We hire people who are eager to contribute to our culture, and we empower them to do just that. Who You Are
You should be fluent in Norwegian and comfortable in written and oral English.You are thorough and precise; you pride yourself in delivering quality work. Your installations are neat and verified correct before you consider the job done. You are service-oriented and bring a "can do" attitude to every challenge. Practical problems inspire you, and your friends will describe you as "handy." We don't know your background; you could be an electrician/telecom fitter or have a bachelor in computers, maybe you have worked as a datacenter operator. The main thing is that you know how to keep our lab operational.
