Would you like to join the next revolution in renewable energy? Aker Offshore Wind

Viktig melding: Denne stillingen har utløpt / er ikke aktiv

We believe the next revolution in renewable energy will be offshore floating wind. Do you want to be part of our journey? We are already working to realize projects around the world, from California to South Korea -- and Norway.

We need talented and ambitious people to make this happen. If you think you have got what it takes, get in touch.

The Summer Interns will be part of the Technical & LCoE team and report to the Head of Wind System Engineering. The positions are located at Aker Offshore Wind HQ in Fornebu, Oslo. Note that for summer 2021 the internship may have to be performed from home office, depending on the COVID-19 situation at the time.

The Role
We are running an Offshore Wind Engineering Summer Internship Programme and are searching for up to three students to work with us this summer. You will be working together on project assignment, doing relevant engineering work directly related to our wind farm developments and business needs. Our team will support and guide you along the way, although we also expect you to be able to work independently.

Tentative starting date is June 14th, 2021. The duration of the internship as well as any vacation is to be agreed upon with the individual summer interns.

We have a long-term view on our recruitment, and upon completion of the internship there could be an opportunity for also writing your master thesis for us, engaging in a part time position during your final year of study, and potentially taking on a full-time position once you graduate.

Who are you? This position will be a great fit for you if you have most of the following skills or experiences:

  • 4th year engineering student who will graduate with a master’s degree summer 2022 (this is a strict requirement that must be adhered to)
  • Specialization within one of the following engineering disciplines: Marine Technology, Electrical Power Systems, Mechanical or Industrial Economics and Technology Management
  • Strong academic results
  • Enjoy working in a multi-discipline, international and agile work environment
  • Curiosity to learn about all technical and non-technical aspects of offshore wind developments
  • Have a commercial and curious mindset
  • Have some programming experience -- parts of the internship may involve developing an optimization algorithm using the Python programming language
  • Ability to work in a structured manner, juggling a variety of tasks and projects with both short and long deadlines
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders in English. Nordic and other languages are considered a plus

Why Aker Offshore Wind?

  • This is a great opportunity for both professional and personal development in a new and expansive competence environment
  • You will find a social and creative work environment with a large degree of influence on your own everyday work, enabling a good work/life balance
  • We have a positive working environment characterized by expertise, responsibility, and innovation
