Our Material Technology department at Fornebu is now looking for a Coating Specialist.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for surface protection by coating in the projects. The level of detailing will vary pending on project needs (study, FEED, detailed engineering) but may include some or all of the following tasks :

• Evaluate the need for and type of corrosion protection by coating
• Review Client requirements
• Write coating specifications
• Assist disciplines to develop coating friendly designs
• Perform bid evaluations wrt the planned coating work
• Review paint shop coating procedures and procedure qualifications
• Review paint shop qualifications and experience
• Run pre-production meetings at the paint shop premises, including inspection of facilities and equipment
• Ensure alignment with Client counterpart

We think you should have:

• Master’s degree in Material Engineering or other relevant Engineering areas
• Minimum 10 years versatile and extensive experience with corrosion protection by coating
• Experience from inspection of surface pre-treatment and coating at building sites and paint shops, including writing inspection reports
• Very good knowledge and understanding of Norsok M-501 and ISO 12944 (all parts)
• Proactive and able to communicate and collaborate across different cultures
• Experience from study, FEED, and detailed engineering phases is an advantage
• Holding a FROSIO Level III or equal certificate is an advantage
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written
• Flexibility to travel as needed
