Norwegian Hull Club is looking for a self-driven, positive-minded team player to join its underwriting department as an Assistant Underwriter. This position - which can be filled immediately - is based at our Bergen office
What kind of job is this?
The underwriting department builds and maintains relationships with marine insurance brokers, ship owners and managers around the world. As well as assessing risks regarding insurance requests, underwriters also inform clients and prospective clients about The Club's marine insurance products and services. They are also responsible for the sale of these solutions.
The successful applicant for this role will receive the training they need in order to perform tasks such as the registration and handling of documents, control of policies and overseeing changes made to policies during the contract period. They will join a dynamic underwriting team in one of the world's largest marine and energy insurance providers.
If you have the qualities we're looking for, you will also find yourself working with other underwriting teams and departments at The Club, as well as enjoying regular conversations with brokers and clients externally.

Who are you and what do you have to offer?
We're looking for someone who is:
Structured with an eye for detail
Not afraid to take responsibility
Positive, service-oriented and able to build good relations with people
Flexible and comfortable handling several tasks at a time
Keen to develop themselves personally and professionally
Educated to Bachelor degree level or equivalent
Good in English, both written and oral. Understanding a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
