OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Subsea 7 has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Installation Method Senior Engineer to be part of Pipeline Group within the Subsea 7 Stavanger office.
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
The Installation Method Senior Engineer - Pipeline Group role incorporates the full installation process from the procedure preparation and/or installation analysis up to the following of offshore operations on board the installation vessel.
They will be responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects or tenders with specific focus on safe and cost effective installation operations.
They can be in charge of a team of installation engineers, dealing with Reel Lay pipeline installation methods for part of a project or a tender, generally under supervision of Installation Engineering Lead -- Pipeline Group.
They will be responsible to the Installation engineering Team or Hub Lead -- Pipeline Group.
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Overall Responsibilities:
- Manages a technical scope within the project/tender team with associated engineers and draftmen
- Manages the technical documentation related to the scope
- Manages planning of the scope and priorities of her/his team
- Liase with delegated external stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, etc..) and internal stakeholders (other Engineering Disciplines, Project/Tender Management Team, Supply Chain, Vessel Operations Manager, etc),
- Involvement in conceptual sudies
- Produces installation procedures and acts as Senior Discipline Checker where required
- Performs inter discipline checks for other engineering disciplines who interface with the reel lay team, i.e. Structural Design, In Place Pipeline Design, Survey, etc
- Ensures that installation procedures and associated calculations are in line
- Manages interfaces with subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Ensures that specifications and norms related to the project are respected
- Provides support to offshore operations with possible short periods offshore or on site,
- Participates actively in training and development of engineering direct reports,
- Participates actively to the Pipeline Group department lessons-learned consolidation,
- Evaluates installation risk and proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
- 5 to 10 years experiences
- Able to work with teams
- Offshore pipelaying experience is desirable
- Sound communication skills
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work
- Ability to prioritize and organize work for self and direct reports
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
- A demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
- Shall be self-motivated and have well developed interpersonal skills
- A willingness to travel on short assignments overseas
- Can work to deadlines set by management
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
