Role Summary:

The hydropower market is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. Rainpower is aiming towards a global industrial footprint, and to always be the cutting edge in digitalization and automation of our Hydropower technology. Due to the increased growing market potential, we are expanding our software engineering department with one new embedded system developer.

Rainpower is market leading in Norway within Turbine governors and excitation. This critical infrastructure is controlled by our own embedded control module Connexi. This role not only gives you possibility to develop software that is a critical part of the backbone of the Norwegian energy supply, but also develop your understanding of hydro power process control.

Essential Responsibilities:

As an embedded software engineer at Rainpower you will be part of a development team of four dedicated persons that has the complete responsibility for both software and hardware development on our Connexi platform. You will develop and maintain firmware and new control algorithms to meet new customer requirements.

Responsibility and work tasks:

• Take a part in shaping our embedded technology platform into the future
• Develop control algorithms for turbine governor and excitation systems
• HIL-testing
• Automate unit and HIL-tests
• Upgrade and develop firmware

Knowledge and interest for some of the following technologies and programming languages:

• QT
• C/C++
• Python
• Control system theory
• PCB design
• Embedded Linux
• CAN-bus (CAN open)
• Modbus
• ARM Cortex
• Jlink

Education and experience

• Higher education withing Cybernetics, mechatronics, electronics or other relevant disciplines
• +5 years of relevant work experience
