We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced HR Manager with the skills and dispositions to be able to contribute to a dynamic leadership team. The successful candidate will have a track record of managing operational duties in similarly sized organisations, while contributing to strategic initiatives and development. Part of the role is to oversee HSSE within the school and therefore experience of overseeing HSSE frameworks within an organisation is important. Previous experience of working in a school is not a requirement -- but the ability to think critically, build teams, nurture staff, communicate effectively while ensuring compliance with Norwegian legal frameworks will be critical in the appointment for this position.
Duties
• Give strategic and operational advice to the Director and Leadership Team on all HR matters ensuring that all policies and procedures comply with legal regulations
• In collaboration with the Director, liaise with employee organizations to ensure best practice
• Lead the development of personnel policies
• Manage all Norwegian and non-Norwegian employees, residence /work permits, contracts and work conditions
• Manage pension and insurance schemes
• Manage residence and work permits/documentation (onboarding) for new employees.
• Collaborate within the leadership team regarding change management and organizational strategies
• Support the Director and Supervisors with HSSE organizational requirements
• Manage and oversee HSSE frameworks and procedures within the school.
Qualifications and Attributes
• University degree in Human Resources or related field
• At least three years’ experience in the field of Human Resources
• Fluency in written and spoken English and mother tongue ability in Norwegian is required
• Extensive knowledge of Norwegian labor laws and employment customs
• Best practice knowledge with respect to Human Resources Management
• Strong understanding of all HR functions and proven experienced in driving a strategic work force planning
• Experience of working in an internationally diverse environment
• Team player
• Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships at all levels
• Experience from HSSE work
