Communications & Government Relations Director

Northern Lights JV is looking for a Communications & Government Relations Director. The successful candidate will be part of the Northern Lights JV management team, and reports to the Managing Director.
The Communications & Government Relations Director is responsible for development and execution of coordinated advocacy positions on policy and key business issues and provide strategic and tactical communication advise to the management team. The role offers a unique opportunity in a unique company, the first in its kind, and is responsible for building brand and reputation, identify non-technical risks critical to success and manage risks and opportunities.  The candidate will represent the company externally, as its official spokesperson, act as a trusted member of the management team, maintain an extensive network with key external stakeholders and owner companies, and proactively sense and communicate emerging issues. Your responsibilities will also include: 

• Manage Government Relations with particular focus on Norway and the EU.
• Develop and keep an ongoing and open relationship with relevant NGO's in Norway and EU.
• Manage and create content for the company website and social media.

One of your most important tasks aside from communications and government relations activities will be to contribute in building of the Northern Lights culture.

We are looking for a communications and government relations professional with a masters degree and broad experience across the spectrum of communication disciplines, with evidence of successful delivery in reputation management, stakeholder engagement, media relations, NGO relations and crisis management. You have the ability to think both strategically, tactically and creatively under pressure and within volatile situations, constantly adjusting priorities as circumstances change. You have a proven track record as a self-starter with the ability to think strategically, effectively prioritise multiple projects/activities, and deliver results.
