The Strategic Market Analysis team (CSA) is responsible for Statkraft’s long-term market view of power markets within which it operates. This includes developing a long-term view of power prices and high-quality insights to support business strategy and commercial processes. CSA is split into three regional teams: Nordics, Continental Europe and Emerging markets. We are recruiting a senior manager to lead the Emerging markets team (CSAE) of 3-4 employees.
Your role
As Head of Strategic Market Analysis Emerging markets, you will play a vital role in leading the team as well as carry out long term power market analysis for India, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Turkey. In this role, you will contribute to the overall management of CSA, collaborate closely with regional offices and support relevant BA project valuations and strategy work.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Project management of the Emerging markets long term market analysis
- Close monitoring of energy / power market development, identify market trends, undertake power market modelling, interpreting results and extract strategic implications
- Lead on upgrades and development of current analytical methods, models and deliveries from CSAE
- Take part in strategy and commercial processes relevant to the specific markets, and prepare summary memos and presentations to support internal decision-making processes
QualificationsWe are looking for someone with essential skills to manage and develop the deliveries from the CSAE unit to support Statkraft’s Strategy, and we believe that includes:
- Master’s degree in finance, economics, engineering or similar with good results
- At least 5 years relevant work experience in power market analysis as well as in depth market experience and understanding for at least one Emerging markets country
- Experience with modelling (Bid3 or SDDP of preference) and programming skills
- Highly structured, analytical and result oriented
- Ability to identify improvement needs of the analysis and deliveries
- Positive personality with the ability to motivate employees and to create a good working environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
