Ref.nr: 2033820967

Two PhD-positions and one postdoc position are advertised at the Institute for Experimental Medical Research, Oslo University Hospital Ullevål in Oslo, Norway, with funding from the Norwegian Research Council.

The Institute for Experimental Medical Research, IEMF, provides excellent academic and research training for PhD, medical and master level students. Arbeidsoppgaver:
  • The positions will focus on molecular regulation of SERCA2-activity in cardiomyocytes. Reduced SERCA2 is a hallmark of chronic heart disease, and the overall aim of the project is to develop novel new therapy to treat chronic heart disease by direct modulation of SERCA2-activity.
  • The projects will focus on the local regulatory role of cAMP phosphodiesterases on SERCA2-actvity, and determine the molecular basis for specific protein interactions. These mechanisms will further serve as a basis for subsequent therapeutic testing in rodent disease models.
  • The PhD candidates will focus on regulation of SERCA2-activity by a combination of cellular electrophysiology, protein technologies and in vivo experiments in rodents with heart disease.
  • The postdoc researcher will focus on FRET imaging in addition to cellular electrophysiology and protein interaction studies.
