EFD Induction is looking for a new engineer in the R&D Department located in Skien, Norway. The department comprises two sections, one focused on frequency converter (generator) development and the other on induction heating processes. Technical support to other departments is also provided by today’s nine R&D engineers. The new position is in the Generator Group, which works with both the generators’ power transfer circuitry and control system.
Responsibility and tasks:
The main challenge will be development of a new control system in our induction heating systems. EFD Induction develops and manufactures induction heating generators both in Norway and France. The work includes development and implementation in the generators for EFD Induction systems delivered to the global manufacturing industry. Contribution in all phases of the lifecycle of the products must be expected.
Requirements:
The position requires skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Software development for embedded systems
- Graphical user interface development
- Programming on the Linux platform
- Software architecture and structured design methods
- Implementation and use of communication protocols
- FPGA application development, SoC’s and peripherals, hardware driver development
The candidate must be proactive, structured and have the ability to work independently. It is important to have good co-operation skills within R&D project groups and towards other departments and international subsidiaries in the EFD Induction Group. The position requires fluent verbal and written English.
Qualifications:
- Engineer with MSc. or Cand. Scient in computer science, electronic engineering, communication technology or equivalent. A candidate with BSc. and several years with relevant experience may also be considered.
