Overview
The OBD development engineer develops monitors for the OBD system. This person ensures the robustness and that the functionality of the complete system meets the company and regulatory requirements. This involves development and integration of software and hardware for controlling emissions related systems of in internal combustion engine powered drivetrain, as well as a EV/ICE hybrid configuration.
The candidate will be working at Koenigsegg's headquarters in Ängelholm, Sweden. Sometimes work can take place at test facilities at other locations in Sweden, other countries in Europe and also the USA. The candidate must be able and willing to work and travel globally. Due to the urgency of the deliverables, the candidate must be willing to accept overtime with sometimes very short notice.
Responsibilities
Improve and extend the functionality of several existing OBD monitors. Create and validate code for additional OBD monitors on the test vehicles so they are ready for CARB certification. Support certification colleagues with information and feedback.
Ensure that the new and/or improved monitors are properly integrated in the custom Koenigsegg OBD system. Ensure that the systems are delivered in a timely manner.

Languages
The candidate is required to master the English language at least at CEFR level B1. Mastering the Swedish language is useful and appreciated.
Areas of expertise
Control, mechanical and automotive engineering. Automotive on-board diagnostics. Software for system-on-a-chip hardware. Automotive drivetrains, especially internal combustion engines and transmission.
Skills and competences
The candidate must be open minded and eager to work with methods only possible in smaller organisations. The candidate must feel responsible for his/her work. The candidate needs to be able to work independently at a high pace in a small and multi-disciplinary team. The candidate should thrive on the challenge to create a proper functioning system within the set constraints. A solid technical background and interest are prerequisites.
Qualifications
The candidate is expected to have a bachelor or master degree in engineering (mechanical, software, control, electrical or other for OBD relevant field). Additional qualifications regarding OBD systems are a plus.
Professional experience
The candidate must have developed on/for automotive OBD systems which were brought to market. Experience with misfire and cylinder imbalance monitors is a big plus.
The custom OBD system is completely made in-house at Koenigsegg Automotive AB. It runs on custom hardware, on which the candidate shall implement improvements both for hard- and software. The candidate must be able to low level programme in the C-language.
Salary
The vacancy is for 1 position, and the salary span is 4000 ¿ 5000 euros/month depending on previous work experience and skills
