The Health Information Systems Programme (HISP) is offering a permanent position as our DHIS 2 Academy Coordinator.
HISP is a global network established and coordinated at the Department of Informatics, UiO. We design and implement health information systems following a participatory approach to support local management of health care delivery and information flows in health facilities and districts. HISP coordinates the development, maintenance and implementation of DHIS 2.DHIS 2is a web-based, open source data platform used by governments and NGOs in 60 countries to improve access and use of information within health, education, sanitation, nutrition and disaster relief. The platform has become a global standard within international development with huge impact on the way health systems are being managed.
At DHIS 2, we are changing the way developing countries and international NGOs manage their operations through building a world class data platform. We are working with the US state department to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa, withDoctors without Bordersto manage hospitals in the field, withCDCto monitor disease outbreaks and with numerous health departments in developing countries to make their health systems more effective.
As part of our training program designed for the DHIS 2 community members, we are hosting a series of Academies in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Academies aim at building a community of DHIS 2 users and experts in Health Information Systems. We are hiring a Academy Coordinator, responsible for preparing the calendar and planning of DHIS 2 Academies.
Please note that DHIS 2 positions are externally funded and contingent on continued project funding.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of DHIS 2 Academies
- Establish and maintain the yearly Academy calendar based on coordination with partners
- Handling the operational elements for Academies, including budgets, production requirements, supplier contracts, communications with participants, collaterals, partner communication and operational documents
- Participate in budgeting of Academies, monitoring their financial status and completing final reconciliation including participant feedback and post event reports
- Support Academy partners and trainers on practical issues such as transportation and accommodation
- Maintain the Academy webpages in English and French
Qualifications- Relevant Masters. Significant relevant experience may compensate from lack of formal education
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and French
- Experience with finance and budgeting
- Experience working with publishing tools such as Drupal and HMTL
- Experience working in an international environment and with international partners
Personal qualities- Ability to plan, prioritize and follow up multiple projects and people, including organizational skills and time management
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain business relationships with international partners
- An interest in developing countries and development
We offer- Salary according to SKO1363 Senior Executive Officer, NOK 494 800 - 567 100 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
