Cisco Systems Service designer/Researcher

What You'll Do
• Identify areas of research, in close collaboration with the product team
• Devise studies that fuel new ideas and uncover opportunities
• Validate that designs meet actual user needs
• Communicate results in an inspiring and convincing way
• Translate findings into actions, and illustrate your proposals
• Build the capacity for user research in the team. Find the right tools and methods, nurture a network of field contacts, and coach your co-workers in how to effectively use these assets
• Work with developers, product managers, and designers following agile methodologies.

Who You'll Work With
You will be part of a team responsible for developing new products and services for our collaboration solutions. We have industrial designers, interaction designers, visual designers, and service designers all under one roof. The full development team is always striving to reach the level of perfection you only get when the whole ecosystem of hardware and software is designed together.

Who You Are
The person we are looking for is an experienced design researcher with a deep understanding of user experience and service design. You love to build stuff and urge to see beautiful design concepts validated in use. You have a genuine curiosity about people and you are a good listener. You value designs by how they are adopted and appreciated, and show no mercy for good intentions or theories that prove inapt in front of users.
As much as putting your own skills to use, you enjoy coaching others to the right result. You are able to effortlessly flex between the bigger picture and concrete problems, and can also help others make that mental leap. You are passionate about technology and communication, and have the ability to engage people around you.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master level education of Interaction design, Service Design or similar education. Alternatively, a degree in a human behavior related field (ethnography, psychology, anthropology) and an outstanding track record of applying research to design work.
- 5+ years of relevant work record from design driven development. A background working in multidisciplinary teams with agile methodology is a plus.
- Broad experience in a variety of qualitative and user-centered design methods
- Expert skills in conducting usability studies
- Knowledge of data analytics and how it can complement qualitative research
- Strong analytical, communication and visualization skills
