The Primary Metal (PM) business area has a total annual production capacity of more than 2 million tons of primary aluminium and has around 5 000 employees in 16 countries. We produce primary aluminium, recycle, and supply our customers with casthouse products.
Procurement is part of Strategic Sourcing within Primary Metal and has the responsibility for sourcing of goods and services for Global Fully Owned Smelters and partly for Global Joint Ventures. A Category Manager is overall responsible for procurement activities within a selected product area, and is member of the Procurement Management Team.
Area of Responsibility
- Head and drive performance activities within the product category team
- Actively cooperate and communicate with customers, local procurement units and suppliers
- Monitor market development
- Source products and services in accordance with Norsk Hydro’s policies, including CSR and HSE
- Establish, anchor, and implement procurement strategy
- Pre-qualify and assess suppliers in accordance with guidelines
- Run tender processes, establish, and manage contracts
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or/and economics
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience within supply chain, project management, procurement or cast house operations
- Ability to identify potentials and deliver on improvement initiatives
- Demonstrable value chain overview and understanding combined with interest for operations
- Documented experience from project management and participation
- Proven negotiation skills
- Fluent in English and Norwegian, oral, and written

Additional Information
Business travels are expected, inside and outside Europe, approximately 40-60 days per year.
The position can be located at Husnes, Høyanger, Karmøy, Oslo, Sunndal or Årdal.
