Opportunity within Near Infra Red spectroscopy in a world leading company
Marine Harvest Fish Feed AS are looking for a NIR Specialist in our fish feed division. NIR (Near Infra Red spectroscopy) is an analytical method for quality control and is a rapid and efficient technology in quality management. The NIR Specialist will be responsible for advanced calibration development for the NIRS DS2500 instrument operated by the software programs Mosaic and ISIscan Nova. Specifically, the NIR specialist will be responsible for sample preparation, sample scan and collection of wet chemistry results from Reference Laboratory. This will be the basis for developing NIR calibrations for different raw materials and fish feed. The NIR specialist will later maintain, validate and follow up the calibrations developed.
The NIR Specialist will work closely with the QA team in Bjugn and the Senior Management Team, particularly our Food Safety & QA Manager and the Formulation and R&D Director. Bjugn is located approximately two hours from Trondheim. Shifted work hours may be possible. After around two years, residency in Bergen or Trondheim is an option, with frequent travels to Bjugn.
The ideal candidate has higher education, qualified to Master Degree level with main emphasis on mathematics, chemometrics, chemistry, computer science or similar. The position requires good laboratory and reporting skills, and knowledge of NIR/Spectroscopy is an advantage. Further, the candidate should be computer literate, highly self-motivated and capable of working unsupervised. To be successful in this position you need to be organized and systematic with good planning skills.
Relevant work experience is beneficial, but graduates are also encouraged to apply. For the right candidate, we will provide necessary training to fulfill the job requirements.
