IK was established in 1987 as Industrikonsult AS, to supply the oil and gas industry with pipe and pipeline services and products.
Following a Management Buy Out in 2006 the employees became shareholders, and we became IK-Norway AS. IK-Norway AS comprises today of the following departments: Sub Sea, Field Service, Pipe Intervention & Calibration, AOGV, Torque and Pressure Technology and Pigging Products and Services.
The company is located at Forus, outside Stavanger, Norway. Our base includes facilities for the entire scope of our operations: offices and workshop facilities, as well as a warehouse and calibration laboratory.
In 2011 IK-UK established in Newton Aycliffe, and in 2013 IK-Saudi started up in Saudi Arabia, Dammam.
In 2015 Online Electronics became part of the IK-Group.

PURPOSE
The Business Development and Sales Manager, will report directly to the Managing Director as part of the Senior Management Team. The BD and Sales Manager will provide active sales support to the IK-Norway business units with a primary focus on Pipeline Isolation systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO;
- Performing active sales efforts incl. first contact client meetings, proactive contact with new clients, open new markets, etc.
- Working closely with the IK-Norway management team to develop and lead long term strategies including new business opportunities for the isolation technologies AOGV and SkadiPlug
- Establishing and achieving annual sales budgets in accordance with company strategy, targets and financial forecasts.
- Providing vision, direction and leadership for sales.
- Creating a sales strategy for a world market for Pipeline Isolation and pay attention to how the remaining business can be incorporated/synergies.
- Managing the preparation of quotations, handling clarification requests and negotiating terms as appropriate for Pipeline Isolation and assist other departments as appropriate.
- Developing a thorough knowledge of the market, solutions and services offered by the Company, and competitors
- Proposing new product development driven by client demand and/or feedback
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly reports, sales forecasts, market research and analysis and specific reports related to Pipeline Isolation.
- Suggesting suitable promotional activities for Company participation including events, seminars or conferences
- Mentoring of Department Managers in Sales strategy and implementation.
- Travel to new and existing clients worldwide
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE- Proven track record of winning contracts and managing a sales team preferably in the oil and gas sector
- Experience in preparing sales strategies, forecasts and reports
- Experience in commercial negotiation
- Min. Bachelor's / Diploma degree in business or a technical field or an MBA with a special focus in Business Development/marketing
- Familiar with the Process Industry or other relevant Oil & Gas isolation technologies
- Engineering and/or technical sales background essential
SKILLS- Customer focused with excellent networking skills and ability to reach out to new customers
- Excellent communication skills is essential, both written and verbal (English and Norwegian)
- Excellent supervisory and organisational skills with ability to prioritise time effectively
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently without close supervision
- Be analytical and methodical in your approach to problems
- Be creative and innovative using IK technology to solve customer needs.
- Be motivated and results driven
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
