The analysis of NAVs website to discover which issues diverse users can meet when using website of NAV.
Website of NAV was chosen because it is important for every Norwegian resident. The research period is October-November 2020.
The website of NAV, we can say, is a way of communication between the population and governmental system. This is a way to contact, receive benefits, social financial support, parental benefits, help and support in finding a job, way to receive unemployment benefit. When choosing the Nav website for this research, I was sure that the system is flawlessly more or less close to ideal, because it is a government organization and I believed that the government follows the law and rules and make everything to eliminate discrimination. I was very surprised to find out that I was wrong. 11 November, 2020 the audit of Digitalization Directorate gives Nav an order for rectification after three discrepancies have been discovered on Nav's website. There are deviates in form, coding and navigation. Nav violates the Equality and Discrimination Act and does not ensure that the application form for parental benefit is possible to use for everyone. Many of the errors have consequences for all users. This applies to incomplete error messages in forms, missing proposals or alternatives for error correction and marking of mandatory fields. Such errors can lead to situations when users not being able to complete the form and submit the application. Errors in coding particularly affect the visually impaired. When forms are not correctly coded, aids such as reading tools or screen readers do not present the content correctly. In addition, it is not possible to reach all content with just a keyboard.
