Aker Solutions' Project Engineering Services department is based in Oslo and provides a wide spectrum of inspection follow-up services within in-house engineering projects. The department comprises 50 people in total while the team that works with Package Follow-up consists of 10 people. We need a talented and experienced candidate who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Oil and Gas market.
We are looking for aMechanical Completion Inspector within the E, I&T discipline.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Mechanical Completion (MC) Inspectors are a key resource for the Completion group in our new-build projects. The Completion group is responsible for:
- Mechanical Completion and Certification, confirming that the equipment/installation/plant is ready for commissioning
- Planning, administration and execution of Commissioning and preservation, ensuring that the equipment and goods remain in new-state until handover to end-user
The MC Inspector is responsible for verification of relevant items to:
- Ensure that they are built according to applicable specification and standards
- Safeguard that the proper documentation is approved and compiled correctly
- Verify that the Certification necessary to proceed to Commissioning is compiled correctly
The MC Inspector specialized in EIT will generally be focused on verification of:
- Low and High voltage cabling
- Tubing
- Control cabinets, panels and similar
- Electrical Switchboards, Transformers and Distribution Boards
- Telecommunications equipment for offshore topsides
- Installation and wiring to motors, generators, heaters and similar equipment
The person in the role can expect to be involved in follow-up of a wide range of goods and equipment at various suppliers in Europe and to a small extent, globally. Extensive business travel can therefore be expected.
Qualifications and Personal Qualities:- Certificate of apprenticeship within a relevant field (e.g. Automation, Electrician)
- Certified training in installation of small-bore tubing and fittings is an advantage
- Documented experience with hands-on Electrical and Instrumentation work
- Experience with NORSOK Electrical, Instrument and Telecommunication standards related to installation and fabrication
- Familiarity with IEC standards relevant to installation of Electrical/Electronic items
- Experience with inspection of EIT work
- Understanding of automated control systems
- Pro-active and solution-oriented with a positive mindset
- Comfortable with varying tasks and workload
- Excellent communication skills in English and Norwegian
- Great self-learner
