FI&C is looking for ambitious First Year Analysts to join our team in Oslo starting September 1, 2019. FI&C is the investment banking department of Danske Bank and the majority of our employees are working on the trading floor.In FI&C everything is about our customers, these include the largest corporations and institutions in the Nordic countries as well as in Europe, Asia and North America. We help our customers with investment advice, hedging strategies, research and trading.
The main types of employees in FI&C are either Sales people, Traders, Quant specialists or Research analysts. All highly competent people who have a strong interest in the financial markets. In your role, you are expected to build strong relationships with our different departments across functionalities both locally and towards colleagues in the various sites, we are present. We are a dynamic organisation with a strong focus on high performance and personal development.
You will join a highly motivated team based in the centre of Copenhagen with branches in six other countries.

The First-Year Analyst program
This position is an opportunity to accelerate your career as part of an ambitious organisation where you are expected to deliver from day 1. You will be on a steep learning curve that enables you to take on added responsibility after your first 18 months. To support your development, we offer personal and professional training activities, networking with other junior analysts as well as exposure to key decision makers. After the 18 months, we will continue to focus on your personal and professional development.
As a First-Year Analyst, you will have the opportunity to get to the very core of financial markets and learn about a broad range of financial instruments. You will get immediate contact with our clients, be exposed to challenging tasks and often get a chance of working in one of our units abroad.
Your success during the daily challenges will often depend on your ability to communicate and involve other members from the sales, trading, quant and research teams within the FI&C.
Who are you?
You must be able to collaborate efficiently with your colleagues on the trading floor. It is a quality to be helpful, curious, organized and creative with a keen interest in other people. It is evident to be a team player as well as being able to work independently with a strong sense of personal responsibility. We are looking for candidates with a strong drive, empathy and the ability to inspire us and take initiative.
Academic profile
You have a strong academic background with a M.Sc. in economics, finance, mathematical economics, engineering or a related study with an excellent academic record of accomplishment.
For some positions, it is an advantage that you have strong IT skills with some programming knowledge of e.g. VBA, Matlab, SAS or SQL, in C++ and C# as well as design and programming both single threaded and multithreaded application. In addition, extensive Excel skills and programming of Excel tools are important.
