We are looking for self-driven risk analysts (junior and senior) to join the capital risk team in Santander Consumer Bank AS located at Lysaker.
In December 2015, Santander Consumer Bank AS received approval from Finanstilsynet and Bank of Spain to use Advanced Internal Rating Based approach (A-IRB) for calculating capital requirements for part of our credit portfolios. We expect to receive approval for using the A-IRB approach for additional credit portfolios in the coming years and want to build a strong capital risk team to meet increasing requirement and new regulation.
The capital risk team is a new department within the bank's Nordic Risk function and is a centralization of different areas within Risk with increasing focus on capital. The capital risk team is an important function within the bank related to capital impact, the IRB rating system and the control and governance around it. The team is also responsible for developing reporting and monitoring tools for controlling performance, validation of ICAAP, performing stress tests, as well as analyzing impacts and reporting on IRB exposure.
We seek persons who has experience within the area of risk, preferably from a bank, and experience with regulatory requirements is an advantage. As a capital risk analyst you will work in an important area within the bank and you will learn a lot about capital risk not only locally in the Nordics, but also in close cooperation with headquarters in Madrid.

The Risk department is an essential part of the bank with over 150 employees with a diverse professional and cultural background. The team is a Nordic function in the bank with offices in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland.
Main responsibilities
- Monitor regulatory and economic capital
- Challenge capital plan and analyze sensitivity of capital plan to risk factors
- Assist in setting risk appetite for capital
- Responsible for defining, updating the transposing the models, policies, and procedures, applicable for Capital Risk area
- Perform the Stress Test exercise (both internal and EBA stress test), and improve the stress test models and assumptions.
- Validation of capital plan including main assumptions
- Develop the needed reporting and monitoring tools for controlling the performance
- Data analytics to optimize reserves and capital
- Ownership of capital calculation data -- working with internal stakeholders (IT, Group)
- Participate in key strategic projects
- Responsible for corporate milestones within Capital Risk area
Your qualifications and experience
- Higher education, preferably at Master's level within finance, economics, statistics or similar with good results
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant role from bank, consulting or FSA
- Intermediate to advanced SAS and/or SQL programming skills
- Advanced skills in Excel and knowledge of VBA
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and structures
- Understanding of capital risk fundamentals
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Nordic or Scandinavian language is an advantage.
