For our client Aker Solutions we are now looking for a Sn. Instrument Engineer for a topside project executed from Fornebu.

Responsibilities and tasks:
Task:
- In co-operation with the Method responsible and Cable Method coordinator, contribute to establish a transparent and robust procedure for information handling and interchange to achieve an unambiguous method of working out cable, termination and loop design. In the position special focus will be on utilizing STID/STID-loop in an clear and easy understandable way for all JS contractors
- During detail design, give advices and sort out challenges regarding the STID design tool in cooperation with COMPANY as tool-owner
- Participation in reviews at multiple engineering and construction sites

Qualifications & personal attributes:
- In-depth technical knowledge of, and experience with Statoil¿s STID database tool, and in particular the STID-loop module
- In general good knowledge of the oil and gas industry, and the engineering work methods, in particular cable and signal communication engineering
- Ability to specify and dimension cable loop and termination for process control & monitoring systems, fire & gas detection and protection/shutdown systems (including field devices) and safety shutdown systems (ESD and PSD)
- Knowledge about Akers engineering¿s database Comos and its interface to STID via Procosys
- General Knowledge of Norsok standards or Statoil's Technical Requirement (TR) documents
- Competence to translate process functionality to the system supplier
- Ability to interact with 3D modelling regarding RIOs, JBs and cable ladders
- Thorough understanding of, and experience with, typical roles and responsibilities of Company, Engineering/Procurement/Construction/Fabrication Contractors, and suppliers, in an NCS environment
- Good overall technical knowledge of, and experience with, the design of large distributed montoring/control/shutdown systems in the NCS oil&gas industry
- General Knowledge of PSA national regulations and referred standards, like IEC61508 (+ OLF GL070), etc.
- Ability to take responsibility and ownership for the scheduling process for engineering, testing and delivery of a large multi-location procurement package
