VARD Cyber Security function is looking for a Security Operation Center Analyst. He / She will be in charge of managing and coordinating Security Operation Center (“SOC”) activities, working in close collaboration with all team members.
The Resource will manage -- throughout first level Security Operation Center -- the life cycle of IT security incidents, ensuring timely intervention in case of attack attempts with potential impact on VARD business and image. In addition, the Resource will be responsible to define “security incident handling” organization and processes, aimed at effectively preventing and quickly reacting to the occurrence of cyber threats.
Working closely with Security Operation Center (SOC) Manager, he / she will be in charge of managing and coordinating Security Operation Center (“SOC”) activities, working in close collaboration with all team members.
Responsibility
- Involved in the development of VARD Security Operation Center area, together with the Cyber Security Team
- Involved in the scheduling and, in case, execution of the cyber security assessment activities (including Penetration Test, Vulnerability Assessments) liaising with Third Party Providers
- Monitoring KPIs to verify security levels, in agreement Cyber Security function
- Support the implementation of the remediation activities in collaboration with all Business Units
- Support Security Operation Center (SOC) Manager in the following activities:
- Define “security incident handling” organization and processes
- Manage penetration tests aimed and verifying VARD cyber risk exposure
- Define -- together with the Cyber Security Team -- remediation plans to fill security gaps that might emerge from due diligence. Deliver periodical reporting showing test results and define recovery plans based on vulnerabilities, in order to continuously improve data security processes
- Define criteria to assess criticality of vulnerabilities emerged, in line with cyber security standard
- Deliver reports showing actions taken, and suggest approaches / methodologies to reduce systems risk exposure
- Oversee the correct functioning of (i) cyber security monitoring services and (ii) SOC services delivered by Third Party Provider. Provider will indeed help the Resource in monitoring, detecting anomalies or attempted intrusion / attacks on VARD systems
- Analyze security events related cyber security monitoring and control systems, by activating organizational escalation if needed
- Manage cyber incidents life cycle, quickly ensuring intervention in case of attack attempts with potential impact on VARD business and image
- Support SOC first level SOC services on the incident management with on-call support
Qualifications - Must have
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in cyber security in medium-large companies. Cyber security experience in Industrials / Manufacturing industries is preferred
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Bachelor’s degree and / or master’s degree in relevant topics -- such as Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Statistics
- Knowledge of Information Systems, and their functioning
- Knowledge of cyber-attack scenarios
- Security assessment tools
- Security framework
Qualifications -- Nice to have
Organizational skills, including Programming, Planning
Programming language / scripting (e.g. Python, Perl, PowerShell, C#, js, etc.)
Technical Certification. Achievement of any of the following is considered a major plus:
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Certification
Demonstrated experience in Capture The Flag (CTF) Teams
Driving license B
