LUKOIL Overseas North Shelf AS is looking for an Exploration Geoscientist for a permanent position at our office in Oslo, Norway. The successful candidate will play a key role in the company's success by performing a variety of tasks.
Job tasks:
Structural interpretation and geological mapping at both regional and prospect level
Well to seismic tie
Velocity modeling for depth conversion
Well log data interpretation
Rock physics modeling
Reports/presentations of the projects
Qualifications:
University Degree in Geoscience
3+ years of experience in petroleum exploration geology/geophysics and petrophysics
Regional understanding of geology and insight into the common petroleum plays on the NCS
Good understanding of seismic and well data acquisition
Understanding of general offshore seismic processing workflow
Best practice in the prospect evaluation routine
Working experience with well log data interpretation and petrophysical evaluation
Good understanding of rock physics modeling
Knowledge of conventional industry software, e.g. Petrel, SMT, Paleoscan, GeoTeric, Hampson-Russell, GeoLog and GeoX
Professional qualities:
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary international team
Flexibility (ability to quickly adapt to various tasks and people)
Proactive and ability to work independently
Creative problem solver
Ability to deliver high quality work on time and on a tight schedule
