VP Business Development in OC&S
Introduction:
The Orkla Confectionery & Snacks (OC&S) Business Area, with annual sales of just above 7 bn NOK, accounts for around 15% of total Orkla Group revenue.
There are six operating companies in the Business Area with market-leading positions in confectionery, biscuits and snacks in the Nordics and Baltic region. Well-established brands include KiMs, Nidar, Sætre, Göteborgs Kex, OLW, Taffel, Panda, Laima, Selga and Kalev.
OC&S has delivered strong results for the past years, and is currently working on an ambitious strategy towards 2030 aligned with Orklas aspirations. Succeeding with the strategy will require that we build new capabilities and processes to work even more effectively together between companies in the Business Area and towards other parts of Orkla Group to drive system value whilst leveraging the local edge.
The VP Business Development will play a critical role in helping the Business Area deliver on these ambitions.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead short- and long-term strategy development process for BA ; facilitate overall BA strategy and action plans, particular responsibility for the commercial strategy
- Support CFO to prepare Business Area review materials
- Responsible for transfer of commercial "best practice” across BUs/BAs
- Prioritize group initiatives in NRM, Execution in Store and Digital Sales/E-commerce and facilitate deployment and establishment of capabilities across BUs. Act as interface to Group Sales and Digital Sales
- Facilitate and drive the overall CSR agenda for the BA , identify CSR opportunities that can be leveraged across the BA
- Drive the structural M&A agenda in close collaboration with the CFO, including target screening, identification/assessment of potential structural moves, acquisitions and/or divestments projects
- Own/support and execute Project Management Office activities within BA/across BUs , e.g. commercial due diligence processes
- Contribute to category/product/brand portfolio assessment within the BA
- Participate in select strategy and BD activities/projects on behalf of Orkla Group
- Facilitate the management team agenda and meeting management

We look for candidates with the following qualifications and profile:
- Master/Bachelor degree in Business, Economics Marketing, MBA or similar relevant degree
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience from positions in top management, business development or top-tier consulting firm including experience on driving change in practice
- Experience from market and commercial analysis (e.g. due diligence), development of value creation plans and implementation of M&A/PMI processes
- Experience from larger transformation projects as cost reductions, reorganizations etc.
- Experience in FMCG and/or consumer industry
- Hands on experience from relevant elements of NRM
- Experience from business development at a strategic level in a consumer-centric, sizable and complex business (internally in Orkla or externally)
- Strong analytical skills, incl. use of analytics tools and market/commercial databases
- Strategy development competence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good project management skills
- Good insights and understanding of the main drivers of commercial excellence and value chain
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Strong personal drive to identify opportunities and ability to deliver commercial and financial results

- Primary place of work is flexible for this role, and some traveling to the different markets and/or Orkla Headquarter in Oslo is required
