As Senior Sustainability Specialist you will be the focal point for all activities related to sustainability, but other tasks within the environmental discipline can be expected as well. You will collaborate closely with key functions such as Legal, HR and Finance.
To complement the HSEQ department, we are looking for a candidate who will bring new knowledge and experience to the team, and contribute to a positive, solution-oriented and collaborative working environment.
Roles and responsibilities
- Maintain a sustainability strategy in line with corporate strategy and implement this in WDNO in collaboration with the Management Team.
- Develop and implement necessary policies, processes, and procedures to ensure that the organization operates in a sustainable way.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as company requirements.
- Increase awareness and understanding of sustainability in the organization and encourage engagement and action on all levels.
- Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and consider related potential risks and opportunities.
- Collect, analyse and report sustainability data, and communicate this to internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as Human Rights Responsible and chair the local Transparency Act Committee.
- Follow up climate related impacts in the technical disciplines.
- Carry out environmental risk and impact assessment in projects and drilling campaigns, and support the environmental discipline on reporting, monitoring and other relevant tasks.
General:
- Promote Wintershall Dea’s HSEQ vision and goals, and actively support continuous improvement.
- Participate in relevant networks internally and externally.
What we expect
Education requirements
- University degree, preferably Master, in sustainability, environment or closely related subject
- Lack of formal education can be compensated by relevant experience
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in relation to the oil and gas industry
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and standards/guidelines within the area of sustainability
- A background from working in the environmental discipline is considered a benefit
