Job Purpose:
The Health Economist is responsible for developing health economic tools and models and conducting health economic studies necessary to support Novartis strategy for key brands in the Nordic cluster, or support market access initiatives in the local markets. You will also be responsible for HTA strategy, reimbursement dossier-development, including delivering relevant health economic data, data analyses and budget impact tools to meet reimbursement authorities/HTA bodies and regional payer requirements. You will be the Nordic expert in health economics and work in close collaboration with the medical team and also provide proactive support to cross-functional brand teams in strategic and tactical planning of health economic research activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for development and submission of reimbursement applications, in close collaboration with Head Market Access in the local markets.
- Responsible to review and condense clinical and health economic evidence to demonstrate the value of Novartis Oncology key brands in order to achieve, or maintain reimbursement and funding in the Nordic cluster.
- Responsible for proactive support to cross-functional brand teams in strategic and tactical planning of health economic research activities and resolution of complex issues, which may impact market access decisions and evidence for products.
- Contribute to the identification of future competitive scenarios and communicates them to be included as early input in development and commercial planning, clinical programs and studies design.
- Lead work to develop, or to adapt, global economic models and obtain appropriate data inputs to accurately populate health economic models to fit country needs.
- Closely collaborate with the market access and HEOR functions in Region Europe and Global to ensure Nordic needs.
- Responsible for health economic considerations in value stories.
- Identification of short and long term value opportunities and value gaps together with medical and commercial, to secure optimal market uptake of launch and mature brands.
- Responsible for analysing payer requirements and business opportunities deriving from, registries and phase IV studies.
- Proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders in collaborative generation and dissemination of real world data in order to maximize patient access and uptake.
Minimum requirementsThe ideal candidate will have:
- Strong academic background (PhD, MSc, or equivalent, preferably in economics, health economics, HTA or life science)
- Fluency in written and spoken English and at least one Nordic language
- Proven communications skills, verbal and written
- Experience in the health care / reimbursement environment and authority landscape in the Nordic Countries
- Good working knowledge of the Nordic Healthcare system and excellent understanding of Health care environment, and experience in interactions with reimbursement agencies and other health care decision makers
- Skills in usage of spread sheet software (MS Excel) and/or similar tools for data analysis.
- Experience of working with real--world data, or applied statistics
