Job Description:

Based in our Tromsø location, the Destination Leader (DL) is responsible for two main focus areas: 1) Destination operations, and 2) Sales and partner development. This unique and challenging position requires a driven enthusiastic leader with management skills and an eye for detail in processes and routines. The DL oversees majority of the operations at our Tromsø destinations and works continuously to keep team members engaged and motivated and aims to improve the working environment for all team members.

The destination leader is responsible for planning and coordinating local dialog, deal making and relationship building with partners and local suppliers. They will work closely with the Hostmanship & Basecamp Leader as well as the Destination Leader -- Lofoten but will also have a direct and often daily interaction with our Sales Team.

Importantly, they are a self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for their work, motivated by the ability to make an immediate impact and develop in this high-growth organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnership Management -- Establish and maintain strong local relationships with suppliers and other partners at the destination
  • Sales Execution - Quickly build rapport with customers to create excitement and interest in products and generate sales revenue
  • Lead Generation and Execution - Research opportunities for new products, services, and partnerships, includes deal generation
  • People Management - Be a team leader that bring enthusiasm and professionalism to the workplace while protecting and furthering the culture of the company
  • Operations Oversight -- Evaluate resource allocation and manage schedules for hospitality teams and adventure teams. Oversee logistics, manage inventory and the geographical movement of assets. Oversee the periodical controls of compliance and maintain a calendar for updates and historic logs
  • Operations Improvement -- Building, implementing, and improving operational processes together with the process teams and share with the rest of the organization

Other responsibilities/activies include:

  • Handle minor HR related questions from team members
  • Travel between locations, to undertake evaluations, rating and draft improvement plans for our products and services
  • Be the point of contact for most operations related questions
  • Be open to learning new and advanced technologies, to drive the industry forward
  • Participate in guiding activities, so that you are able to assist/step in for your team members when needed
  • Keep a close dialogue with the CEO of the company, and participate actively in business development activities, as they tie into the management of existing and new destinations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or similar (MBA preferred)
  • 3+ years' management experience in the outdoor travel or hospitality industry
  • Proficiency in CRM, reporting, and payment software
  • Fluent in oral and written English

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the travel and outdoor adventure or hospitality sales industry
  • Experience with Hospitality Management or Booking software (i.e., Rezdy)
  • B2B sales
  • In-depth local knowledge and genuine interest for Pukka's operating locations
  • Fluent in oral and written Norwegian
