PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Night shifts: The tour guide is responsible for a max 8-person group to drive them to see northern lights, take photos and entertain guests.
Day shifts: Guide a max 8-person group to the fjords, villages, and beaches outside Tromsø, and share your stories and knowledge with guests.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Making guests feel welcome and putting guests' satisfaction as the number one priority
- Driving a 9-seater van safely in arctic winter
- Share good stories with guests e.g. about Norwegian culture, mythology, northern lights and midnight sun, astronomy, history, arctic exploration, nature, and wildlife.
- Taking photographs of the aurora and sending the photos to the guests.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Fluent in English. All additional languages are a plus.
- Excellent communication and social skills.
- Skilled with driving 9-seater vans in winter conditions.
- "Kjøreseddel" permit or eligibility to apply for it (EU resident for the last 4 years & EU driving license) Apply for Kjøreseddel,
- Experience in aurora tours is a plus but not necessary, our team will help you out.
- Skilled with photography is a plus but not necessary, you will gain this skill from work. If you are interested in photographing, then this is the opportunity. Our fully experienced aurora photographer will teach you.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Available to work from November to March
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Experience in driving on slippery roads.
- Responsible and customer friendly
