Responsibilities:
As a Technical Manager you will play a key role in supervising the technical aspects of our ship operations. You will be in charge of a team of Vessel Managers/Technical Superintendents and your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Technical Management:
Manage and coordinate the technical condition of our fleet of ships, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Making sure maintenance and repair needs are continuously identified through targeted inspections and audits to assess the condition of vessels.
Continuously evaluate our maintenance policies and standards.
Participate when negotiating contracts and agreements with vendors for technical services, spare parts, and equipment.
Familiar with Planned Maintenance Systems (such as AMOS, TMaster, etc)
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of Vessel Managers/Technical Superintendents, emphasizing a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance and support to your shore-based team and the ship management teams.
As a Technical Manager you will be a member of our Emergency Response Team.
Financial followup:
Drive the budgets process and financial follow- up of the ships technical budget.
Monitor and analyze expenditures related to ship maintenance and repairs.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all vessels under management comply with relevant maritime laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
Good knowledge of industry regulations, international conventions, and best practices related to technical ship management.
Proven experience in technical management of ships.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
