General Responsibilities include:
The responsibilities include the following activities relating all structural, loadout, transportation, marine operations and heavy lift, issues (see note):
- Responsible for all structural, loadout, transportation, offshore lifting and/or installation design (new facilities and modifications).
- Provide design input to optimize lifting configuration to achieve maximum lift capacity of HL vessel and ensure liftability in safe operations
- Regulatory compliance (NORSOK and PSA requirements).
- Actively participate and support Weight Control Management Program to ensure liftability of heavy objects and minimization of offshore completion
- Provide input to budgets and planning.
- Update Basis of Design documents.
- Implement procedures and standards.
- Follow-up and monitor the Offshore Transportation & Installation design team.
- Review Contractors evaluation of technology and provide necessary interface with Operations during design.
- Process requests for deviations.
- Actively support other disciplines to ensure interdisciplinary coherence and experience transfer.
- Provide advice to others on structure, loadout, transportation, marine operations and lifting.
- Conduct regular technical meetings.
- Perform HAZOP, HAZID and system reviews.
- Participate in audit teams as requested by Management.
- Process and follow up technical queries from Contractors and Operations.
Note: “All structural, loadout, transportation, marine operations and heavy lift issues” is defined as: Load bearing systems for jackets, topside, bridges, bridge supports, foundation piles and appurtenances for loadout, transportation and installation. Geotechnical data, Metocean loading. Impact of installation on existing structures (piles and pipelines).
Required expertise:
- BSc within engineering or construction. Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.
- Minimum 10 years experience with structures and heavy lifts including Projects and Operations. Project experience with Norwegian statutory requirements.
