Responsibilities and tasks
Perform discipline review and QA
- Procedures
- Work Instructions
- Delivery check lists
Establish and maintain an efficient discipline organization
- Resource planning
- Focus on and contribute to a quality mind set within the discipline
- Manage the discipline
- Liaise with other disciplines
- Follow up civil engineering and execution
- Development and documentation of installation methods
Obtain detailed knowledge of the engineering discipline scope of work
- Ensure that the discipline scope of work is clear and understood by the discipline
- Ensure clear interfaces towards suppliers and subcontractors with respect to discipline scope of work
- Participate in study and execution project in modification projects
- Design of secondary- and outfitting structures
- Structural analyses using hand- and computer calculations, in accordance with national and international rules and regulations
- Sporadic offshore surveys
Establish and maintain a discipline activity schedule
The candidates must be familiar with:
- Lifting design
- Material handling and maintainability in design
- Structural analysis, calculation and report
- Surface protection philosophy
- 3D structural design
- Standard weld, weld bevels and weld identification
- Identification of coating systems
- Safety and working environment
- Quantity and weight control
- HAZOP
- NORSOK standards for architect, material, structural, lifting equipment, mechanical and safety
- NORSOK drawing standards
Qualifications & personal attributes
- Higher relevant technical education, typically B.Sc.
- Ability to motivate and coach team members, good communication skills
- Team working skills with the ability to work in an international environment
- Comprehensive structural knowledge and fluent in relevant standards
- A drive for developing your expertise
- Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
- A technical and analytical mindset combined with commercial awareness
- HMS mindset
- Minimum 7 years of experience, preferably from Norwegian Oil and Gas Industry
- Good communication skills; be willing to transfer experience and knowledge to junior structure engineers
- Fluent in written and spoken English (must)
- Fluent in written and spoken Norwegian (preferable)
