The Norwegian Sequencing Centre (NSC) is the leading high-throughput sequencing (HTS) core facility in Norway and provides services and competence within this field at a national level. The NSC is hosted by Department of Medical Genetics (DMG) at Oslo University Hospital and the Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis (CEES) at the Department of Biosciences at the University of Oslo.
The NSC has by far the largest instrument park for HTS in Norway. At present, we are operating the following technologies: Illumina (4 HiSeq X, 2 HiSeq 3/4000, 2 HiSeq 2500, 3 MiSeq, 2 NextSeq500) and Pacific Biosciences (RSII and Sequel). We therefore possess the capacity to handle large genomics projects, as well as small targeted studies. In addition, the NSC has a range of automation equipment (Hamilton and Perkin Elmer pipetting robots). Employees at the NSC also engage in research activities including, but not limited to, method development within high throughput sequencing.
A position as Lab Engineer, working with High Throughput Sequencing technology, is available at The Norwegian Sequencing Centre (NSC; www.sequencing.uio.no) hosted by the Department of Medical Genetics, Oslo University Hospital. The appointment is for a period of two years and is available from August 2017, with the possibility of extension.
