Aker Solutions' Global Product Management department in Norway is responsible for design and development of next-generation subsea control systems, electrical actuators, condition and performance monitoring and general electrification of subsea products. The department has the full design ownership of the subsea electronic product portfolio and is responsible for product development, prototyping, qualification, maintenance and product releases within the product portfolio. The department is a spearhead within the company, developing new technologies, methods and enabling digitalization.
The developments in the energy market are changing the requirements for subsea products, as only the smart products and efficient methods for development and industrialization will be sustainable in the face of strong competition. To meet the challenge, Aker Solutions is building a new technology center in Tranby, Norway to strengthen the product development organization and develop new business ideas, concepts and products.
We strongly believe in discipline and high performance teams as an enabler for solving complex and challenging development tasks. The department consists of 5 discipline teams; Product Architecture, Hardware Electronics/Mechanics, Embedded Software, Application Software and Verification, that work closely together at the same location. We have a well-equipped lab with test equipment and tools for prototyping and testing, which enables early verification of concepts and technical solutions. Manufacturability and testability are ensured through close collaboration between our product development, test development and industrialization teams.
Our development strategy is built on state-of-the-art processes and methodology, such as agile, virtualization and test-driven development. The current development framework includes Git, Jenkins, Coverity, Jama, Redmine, Crucible and Robot Framework and we have high focus on continuous improvements of our development environment. Our next generation hardware platform will be based on Xilinx Zync system on a chip (SoC), i.e. integrated CPU, FPGA and I/O devices.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
We are currently looking for software developers, who will become part of our highly qualified and professional embedded software development team. As a software developer you will be assigned to product development projects and take part in all project phases from concept and prototyping to support and maintenance. We need developers with some experience, but also motivated and enthusiastic recent graduates are encouraged to apply. You will be mentored by experienced software developers. Some experience with Linux or other Unix-like operating systems is appreciated.

- Continuous integration and verification (Jenkins)

- Auto-generation of C-code whenever possible (Python)

Most of your time will be spent with in-house software, but some functionality is also based on integration with 3PP and Open Source components.
Our software development team is part of the technology centre, located in Tranby, close to Drammen.
